Aloha! My name is Turi Kekuaokalani I am 20 yrs old and I am the owner of HAKUS BY TURI. My entire life I was surrounded with Polynesian dancing and culture, so tropical flowers incorporated through Lei, costumes, and other arrangements were common and grabbed my attention. 

​One day after my high school graduation, I decided to make a Lei Po'o (flower crown) out of all of the flowers from the  Leis I was given from graduation. (Fun fact: Kumu Kamuela Himalaya, was the Kumu who basically taught me how to make a Lei Wili or a wrapped lei that most people use as a head lei.) After completing this lei I decided to post it on social media. Some of my friends and family asked if I was selling it. Soon after that, I told myself I'll try my best to hone my lei making skills and just a few weeks later on June 29, 2017 I made it an official small business. 

​Never in my life would I ever think that I would be a lei maker today. I'm so joyful for all the opportunities and learning experiences this small business has given me thus far. I can't wait to learn more from you, my customers, and from each lei I make. Thank you for supporting me in my small Lei making business.
